He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father R. C. Farmer; his stepfathers, Riley Stike and Richard Miller; his great grandchildren, Skylar Marie Farmer and Willow Mae Farmer; his wife Margaret Harris Farmer; his children, Michael Farmer (Fay) of Sparta, Andy Farmer (Christie) of Independence, VA and Angie Billings (Adam) of Crumpler; his mother Della Ray Miller of Taylorsville; his siblings, Ronnie Farmer (Juanita) of West Jefferson, Tim Farmer of Warrensville, Linda Messer (Everett) of Salisbury, Betty Lorene of Kernersville and Janice "J. C."; his grandchildren, Blake Farmer (Mindy) of Sparta, Brandi Renae Farmer of Wytheville, VA, Justin Billings of Crumpler, Marissa Swift (Cody) of Vilas and Rebekah Irene Farmer of Independence, VA; and his great grandchildren, Addison Marie Smith, Isaac Goodwin and William Corey Swift.
