He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Reber, and John H. "Johnny" Reber, Jr.; and his siblings, Ann Mason, Jean R. Herrin and Bradford Reber.
He is survived by: his wife Ginger; his children, Dana Lisenby (Jamie), Candy Basnight (Benji Cogar) and John Michael; his stepson Eddie Midgett; his grandchildren, Hunter Basnight, Olivia Lisenby and Elliot Lisenby; his siblings, Pearline Getz, Gwen Quidley of Manteo, Cathy McPhee (Randy) of Grandy, Crawford (Vicki) of East Lake and Louie of Wanchese; his uncle Louie; and his aunt Jean Payne.
