She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Brooks and Cassie Vaughn Brooks; her husband Lewis "Bud" Barger; her daughters, Janice Stanford and Patricia Lemley; and her sister Jackie Brooks.
She is survived by: her sons, Mike Barger (Pam) of Belews Creek and Mitch Barger (Terri) of Walnut Cove. She is also survived by grandchildren; and thirteen special great-grandchildren.
