She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Oakley and Sadie Bell Haynes Hiatt; her husband Howard Wayne Cockerham; her children, Jennie Cockerham Mabe, Billy Easter and Bobby Easter; and her siblings, Della Malloy, Betty Jesse, Mozelle Williams and Martin Hiatt.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna; her son-in-law Ricky Morton; her son Arnold Easter; her grandchildren, Michael Morton, Sherrie Helmstetler and Beth Evans; and her half-sisters, Susan Hiatt and Vicki Balkey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakdale Cemetery (1500 N Main St, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
