She was predeceased by: her husband John Wesley Nelson; her siblings, Clavis Carter and Vera Carter Joyce; and her son-in-law Bobby Steele. She is survived by: her children, Danny Nelson (Nancy) and Shelby Steele; her grandchildren, Chris Nelson, Melissa Nelson, Jonathan Steele (Amy) and Barbara Edwards (Stephen); and her great grandchildren, Mitchell Edwards, Tucker Steele, Seth Edwards, Macy Steele and Makenzie Steele.
