He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Harvey Lee Bailey and Deaconess Sallie Lash Bailey; his siblings, Faith Bailey, Kirkland, Harriet Lash Rhodes, Allison Bailey Johnson and Armstead Keith Bailey (Terry Lee Bailey); and his son James Edward Lash, Jr..

He is survived by: his siblings, Lloyd Bailey of Madison, NC, Dona Maria Bailey of Walnut Cove, NC and Laura Caldwell (Joe) of Kernersville, NC.; and his friends, Curtis Smith, John Simmons and Hayward Anderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
