It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erma Jean Corns Pyrtle (Walnut Cove, North Carolina), who passed away on October 19, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Corns and Beatrice Lawson Corns Shelton; her stepfather Raymond Shelton; her son Timothy Lee Pyrtle; and her siblings, Ruth Justice, Kathleen Farmer, Herbert Corns, Milton Corns and Lester Shelton.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Davis Pyrtle; her children, Lynn Hicks, Betty Pyrtle, Patty Cromer (Scotty) and Carl Pyrtle; her brothers, Jimmy Shelton (Wanda) and Dwight Shelton (Debbie); her grandchildren, Steven Slate (Amanda), Amanda Slate, DeAna Gritton (David), Nathan Pyrtle, Eric Cromer (Mary) and Tyler Cromer (Sarah); and her great grandchildren, Sawyer Slate, Scout Slate, Parker Gritton and Nora Gritton.
