He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Nelson and Nellie Tate Dawson; his grandson Jared Cole Roberts; and his son Tony Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Faye Nunley Dawson; his daughter Angelia Roberts (Roy) of Midway; his brother Everette "Moe" Dawson; his sister-in-law Sylvia of Claudville, Virginia; his granddaughter Haley Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Dawson Cole Walser and Hudson Ellis Walser.
