He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Dawson Stokes, Sr. and Meata Carter Stokes; and his siblings, Jacob Dawson Stokes, Jr., Willie Mitchell Stokes and Emma Stokes Raynor.
He is survived by: his son Farris Leonard of Burgaw; his grandchildren, Brittney Somers of Penderlea and Blair Padgett of Penderlea; his great grandchild Carter Somers of Penderlea; and his siblings-in-law, Mack Raynor and Betty Sue Stokes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
