He is survived by: his significant other Glenda Faye Brinson Hanchey; his children, Karen Diane Merritt (Jeff) of Surf City, Shana Renee Edwards (Danny) of Goldsboro, Dana Earl Smith (D. J.) of Pink Hill and Darian Lee Hanchey (Anabelle) of Warsaw; his grandchildren, Katie Davidson (Zach), John Merritt, Kristin Merritt, Emily Smith (Alex), Lea Patterson (Zac), Alaina Williams (Shane), Jonathan Edwards, Hillary Hill (Michael), Bailey Smith, Kenly Long (Bryan), LeAnna Hanchey, Alyssa Hanchey and Preston Hanchey; his great grandchildren, Shepherd Davidson, Sunny Grace Davidson, Hayden Rose Williams, Gracie Edwards, Banner Patterson, Isaac Long and Jennings Long; his sister-in-law Peggy Hunt (John) of Wallace; and his pets, Rufus, Effie and Tiger. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
