She was predeceased by: her parents, Malissie Lalon Bridgers Hawkes and R. V. Hawkes; her siblings, Gladys Jeanette Creech (Hume), Max Leo Hawkes (Myrtle), Thelma Mae Beasley (Joseph), Jack Hawkes (Ruth), Annie Lee Coble (Albert) and Ruth Louise Watson (Lewis); her husband William Thomas Savage; and her son-in-law William Francis Barry III.
She is survived by: her daughters, Hilda Diane Barry of High Point, Bonnie Frances Horrell (Wayne) of Atkinson and Sara Catherine Youngblood (Peter) of Portsmouth, VA; her grandchildren, Thomas Wayne Horrell (Christy), Wendy Lane Wooten (Kevin), Benjamin Savage Gerhartz (Wilma) and Amy Lynn Gerhartz; her great grandchildren, Caleb Thomas Horrell, Brandon Lee Horrell, Isaac William Gerhartz, Ella Katherine Gerhartz, Hannah Patterson Wooten and Samuel Carter Wooten; and her children, Benjamin and Amy Gerhartz. She is also survived by neighbors and friends as well as her family.
