He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Thelma Horrell Blanton; and his sisters, Debbie Cantrell and Ginny Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Annette Malone Blanton; his children, John David Blanton, Jr. (Darlene) of Magnolia, Thomas Eugene Blanton (Arlene) of Watha, Kimberly Ann Blanton of Magnolia and Susan Rebecca Colantuono (Pete) of Jacksonville; and his siblings, Clinton Blanton (Jean) of Rose Hill, Sonny Blanton (Marsha) of Wallace and Frances Malone of Rose Hill. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
