He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter James and Lillie Mae Bowen Blanton; his son Jimmy Blanton; and his sister Judy Blanton Chestnutt. He is survived by: his significant other Rhonda Hatcher of Wallace; his children, Christa Blanton Bass (Edward) of Kenansville and Stephen Craig Blanton of Kenansville; his siblings, Bobby Blanton of Wallace and Linda Blanton Kuhn of Wilmington; and his friend James Earl. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
