She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Jefferson Carter, Sr. and Sarah Ann Rich Carter; her husband Pat Rich; and her siblings, Loreen Whitley and N. J. Carter, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Rich (Tara) of Wallace, Denise Hunter (Robert) of Roseboro and Sharon Holder (Steve) of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Brittany Royster (Steven), Brandon Rich, Daniel Rich (Jodi), Luke Hunter (Maeghan), Rich Holder (Jessica), Blake Holder (Sarah) and Matthew Holder (Ashlyn); her sisters, Angela Nelson of Fayetteville and Mable Woodlief of Garland; her grandson Steven Royster; and her great grandchild Luke Evans. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
