She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Fuquay and Ruth Griggs Fuquay; and her brothers, Lacy, Bill, George and James Fuquay.
She is survived by: her husband Wallace Compton; and her sister-in-law Betty Sue Edwards. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
