He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith (Burkett); his children, Bill Smith (Holli), Sean Smith (Jeanne), Nichole Thornton (Jared) and Johnny Smith; his grandchildren, Brent Smith (Brittany), Alyssa Smith and Ashlyn Thornton; his great grandchildren, Caden and Colson Smith; and his siblings, Mae Miller, James Smith (Joan), Patty Chapman and Galen Smith.
