She was predeceased by: her siblings, Sarah Smith and John Smith. She is survived by: her husband Fred Burton Martin of Rural Hall; her brother Olen Smith (Thelma) of Dayton, OH; her stepchildren, Phyllis Dempsey (Chris) of Pinnacle, NC, Glenn Martin (Lynn) of Mooresville and Tony Martin (Cindy) of Tobaccoville; her stepgrandsons, Adam Martin of Denver and Logan Martin of Mooresville; and her nephews, Shane Smith (Mary Kay) and Kevin Smith of Dayton, OH..

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ruby's memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, 27041.
