With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Leight Mecum Sr. (Walkertown, North Carolina), who passed away on June 14, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James M. Mecum and Birchie Leight Mecum; his wife Anne; his sons, James L. Mecum, Jr and David Mecum (Susan); his granddaughters, Amy Taylor (Keith), Ashley Manley (JD), Emily Bell (Eli) and Katie Schmidt (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylee, Austin, Ethan and Harry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Love's United Methodist Church.
