She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Lillian Veach and John William Dillon; and her siblings, Norma Stafford, Dorothy Gross, Ruth Dillon, Avalee Dillon, Orville and Gilmer Dillon.

She is survived by: her husband Joseph Vernon Byrd; her children, Rebecca Surratt (Maynard), Vicky Morgan (Pete), Martha Cole (Wallace), Jyl Billings (Robert) and Wayne Byrd (Melissa); her grandchildren, Allen Surratt (Gena), Michael Morgan (Ruffin), Tim Welborn (Christy), Rhonda Ballance, Ashley Parsons (Mark), Allison Barnes (Jerry) and Sarah Byrd; her great grandchildren, Bailey Welborn, Wyatt Welborn, Joseph Foust, Whitney Campbell, Josh, Lyndon Barnes, Holden Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Smith Morgan, Rachel Morgan, Hope Surratt, Rebecca Parsons and Katherine Parsons; her great great grandchildren, Ryleigh Campbell and Connor Campbell; and her sister Odessa Stevens of Kernersville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
