He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bennett and Ruth Bennett; and his daughter Martha Ellen. He is survived by: his wife Sheila of Walkertown; his children, Jill Martin (Todd) of Belews Creek and John Bennett (Ashley) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Jake, Belle Martin, Jack and Gray Bennett; his siblings, Ronald Bennett (Johnita) of Walnut Cove and Pamela Barton (Jim) of Staunton, Virginia; and his sister-in-law Sharon Fernandini (Eddie) of Lexington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
