He was predeceased by: his parents, Joesph Laney Funderburke and Evelyn Theresa Funderburke (Piney); his brother Joesph "Joe" Funderburke; his nephew Joesph "Joey" Funderburke; and his granddaughter Evelyn "Evie" Ruth Kornegay.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Funderburke; his children, Wayne Daniel "Danny" Funderburke Jr., Kimberly Dawn Jarman (Kyle) and Christine Anne Kornegay (James); and his grandchildren, Emily, Annabelle, Audrey, Johnathan, Kelcey, Dalton, Khloe, Charlie, Alley, Luke and Lucy.
