It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Sanderlin Wooten (Wake Forest, North Carolina), born in Wilmington, North Carolina, who passed away on June 27, 2023, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John Ellis Wooten; her son John; her siblings, Dorothy Nimmo (Dot) and William T. Sanderlin, Jr.; and her parents, Katherine Young and William Talmage Sanderlin.
She is survived by: her children, Kate Forgeng (Joe), Bill Wooten (Terry) and Wanda Wooten; her grandchildren, Michael Wooten, Johnny Wooten, Joe Forgeng (Julie), David Forgeng (Sarah), Bonnie McRae and Phillip Harrell (Jodi); and her great grandchildren, Jenevieve, William, Lucy and Emma.
