She was predeceased by: her father Roosevelt Sessoms; her husband Douglas Rogers; her daughters, Teresa Carter and Vickie Futch; and her siblings, Abraham Sessoms, David Sessoms and Lela Haywood.
She is survived by: her children, Shirley Carter (Robert Lavon, Sr.) of Williamston, Barbara Oxendine of Smithfield, Brenda Brooks of Smithfield and Danny Butler of Smithfield; and her siblings, Sarah Rhoden of Laurinburg, Ruby Locklear of Laurel Hill, Kathleen Scott (DC) of Laurinburg, Hazel Lathan (Bill) of Aberdeen, Doris Jones of Laurinburg, Jean Byrd (Jim) of Laurinburg, Paul Sessoms (Peggy) of Laurinburg and John Sessoms (Sue) of Wagram. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
