With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Owens (Wake Forest, North Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Mary left this world on April 20, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenzie Dal Pankey and Hepsia Irene Smith Pankey; her daughters, Ginger Mary Bau and Gigi Mary Herzer; and her siblings, Hope Lewis, Judith Foe, Helen Pankey and David Pankey.
She is survived by: her husband Robert J. Owens; her sister Fran Tyrrell; her son John A. Bau, Jr. (Morgan); her stepchildren, Troy Owens (Suzy) and Dena Owens; her grandchildren, Kate Roehling (Theresa Spinola), Joseph Simpson (Laura), Teresa Freeman (Blake), Tassie Collins Rosenfeld (Patrick), Jaci Herrera (Zac), Emily Bau, Ethan Bau, Hayden Bau, Austin Snyder, Lindsay Owens, Rhys Owens, Niklas Franke and Emma Franke; and her great grandchildren, Kenslie Knors, Joslynn Herrera, Claire Herrera, Charlie Herrera, Ava Pinco, Carly Freeman, Chase Freeman, Tyler Freeman and Tyler Rosenfeld. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and unofficial family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hope Lutheran Church (3525 Rogers Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587). A reception will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to First Christian Church, Hopkinton St, Rosiclare, IL 62982 where Mary was baptized and raised in the faith; she and Robert maintain ties to the First Christian Church community.
