He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Thomas Barker and Ruby Grose Barker; his daughter Ann Marie Barker; and his sister Sylvia Jean Barker. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Hunt Barker; his children, John Barker, Jr. (Cindy) of Indian Trail, Sheryl Barker of Sunset Beach, Carson Barker of Wake Forest and Cameron Barker of Greensboro; his granddaughter Kayla Comer; and his siblings, Gary Barker (Cyndy), Lynn Barker (Renee), Shirley Tester of Statesville and Marilyn Nicholson (Dale) of Statesville. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
