He was predeceased by: his parents, William Buck and Ada Whitley Choplin; his former wife Inez Choplin; and his siblings, Tensie Whitley, Estelle Lassiter and Earl Choplin.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Fox; and his niece Yvonne Hudson (family: Mary Jo Minnis, John Whitley).
