He is survived by: his children, Doreelin Chitla (John Chitla), Dennis Mendoza (Kristin Mendoza) and Desiree McLawhorn (Chad McLawhorn); his grandchildren, John Chitla, Jr. (Hannah Chitla), Justin Chitla, Jason Chitla, Jenna Chitla, Joseph Chitla, Manguera Mendoza, Dominic Mendoza, Daniella McLawhorn and Drake McLawhorn; his wife Linda; his great-niece Rialinn Sanchez; and his great-nephew Joshua Sanchez.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church (520 W Holding Ave, Wake Forest, NC 27587). A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (105 Shepard, King, NC 27021). A reception will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
