He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Jean Ramos Lazarte; his children, Adriane Lazarte Elek (Jonathan Elek) of Wake Forest and Edwin Rivera (Noemi Rivera) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Ethan Elek-Larzarte, Angelica Rivera, Eddie Rivera and Hazel Jerez; and his siblings, Fernando Meza, Carina Meza, Scarlet Meza and Mirella Meza.
