He was predeceased by: his father William Franklin Fields; and his brother Ricky Fields. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Byrd Fields of Laurinburg; his wife Nancy Fields; his son Stephen B. Mangum of St. Paul; his sisters, Patricia Taylor, Phyllis Holcomb, Brenda Stewart (Cecil) and Donna Faircloth (Steve); and his close friend Minnie Mouse. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
