She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Eugene Hinson; her daughters, Melissa and Melinda Hinson; her mother Virginia Smith Williford; and her siblings, Leonard Smith and Jacqueline Allen.

She is survived by: her children, John Hinson (Skye) of Poquoson, VA, Rhonda Bird (Harry) of Prosperity, SC., Constance "Connie" Weisner (John) of Kernersville, NC. and Debra Bishop (Chuck) of McDonough, GA; and her brother Fred Smith (Jeanie) of Flat Rock, NC.. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of Hoke County, P.O. Box 1584, Raeford, NC 28376.
