He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Hill Tynes and David Tynes Sr. of Smithfield, Virginia.; and his brother Andrew Lee Tynes of Smithfield. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Leak Hill; his children, Kim Hill Black, William Darrell Hill of Charlotte, NC and Shantea Hill of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, David Tynes, Jr. (Ta) of Woodbridge, James Walter Tynes (Vanessa) and Mary Tynes Mason (Earl) of Stafford, VA; his mother-in-law Cledora Leak Tillman of Polkton, NC; and his sisters, Mary Tillman Parker of Polkton, NC, Martha Nivens (Alvin) of Lilesville, NC, Barbara Faye Harris (Richard) of Lilesville, NC, Diane Tillman (Bernard) of Charlotte, NC, Deborah Tillman (Bobby) of Marshville, NC, Elizabeth Kersey (Marion) of Polkton, NC and Mildred Tillman (Nathaniel Tillman) of Ft. Mill, SC. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
