He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. William James McKinnon and Corrine McKinnon of Wadesboro; his wife Glenda Goodman McKinnon; his son William James McKinnon III; his grandchildren, Virginia Grace, Regan Elizabeth, Lachlan James and Layla Skye McKinnon; his son John Lauchlan McKinnon; and his brothers, Dr. MacKay McKinnon, Jeffery Hawley McKinnon and John David McKinnon.
