He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben J. Spencer and Glennie Mae Diggs; his brother Willie Clarence Diggs; his nephew Kelvin Diggs; and his close friend Hattie Flowers.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Mae Byrd Diggs; his children, Roger Tanner of Lilesville, NC, Keith Diggs, Ditonya "Tony" Diggs, Shelby Sturdivant (Jasper) and LeAnna Watson; his stepdaughters, Vickie Moore (Clinton) and Antonia Dean (Brothel); and his siblings, Jay Wyatt Diggs (Brenda) and Evangelist Linda Diggs of Lilesville, NC.. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
