He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Merritt Tyson and Ethel Maner Tyson; his son-in-law Frank Davis; and his siblings, Marvin, Buddy, Grover, Harold, Leo Tyson, Mattie Gaddy and Alice Moehler.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Lookabill Tyson; his children, Jeanie Davis, Julie Williams (Greg), Maner Tyson (Tara) and Marvin Tyson (Jan); his grandchildren, Corrie Tindal (Bill), Samuel Williams (Abby), Noah Williams, Ali White (Eddie), Jennifer Tyson, Meg and Mel Prescott; his great grandchildren, Burns and Lawson Tindal; and his sisters, Jennie Thomas and Ella Hargett. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
