He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter James Gilmore and Lula Munlin Gilmore; his close friend Margie Thompson; his daughter Debbie Gilmore Stanley; and his siblings, James Clifton Gilmore, Algie Gilmore, Julian Gilmore, Max Gilmore, Sammy Gilmore, David Gilmore, Cleo Treadaway, Agnes McGee and Bernice Keller.
He is survived by: his daughter Wanda Gilmore Johnson (Paul) of Burlington; his granddaughters, Stephanie McKinney (Todd) and Ashleigh Bailey (Richard); his great grandchildren, Karson, Isleigh, Noah, Griffin, Kyle and Holden; his grandchildren, Bo Thompson (Bonnie) of Wadesboro and Wanda Tillman (Ross) of Wadesboro; his children, Amanda Thompson of Wadesboro, Miranda Thompson of Wadesboro, Gene Thompson of Wadesboro, Richard Martin, Jr., Summer Martin, Prentice Martin, Brant Gibson, Garrett Gibson, Stephanie Gibson, Logan Thompson, Presley Thompson and Amilliyon Baxter; and his sister Brenda Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
