He is survived by: his sons, Collins, Aikman and Mount Aire; his wife Annie Melton; his children, Kent Melton (Kay), Norbert Melton, Jahan Melton (Atilya) of Norwood, NC, Carolyn Richardson (Kenneth) of Norwood, NC and Beverly Davis (Terry) of Cheraw, SC; his granddaughter Tasheka Calloway; his siblings, Jess Colson (Kathy) of Tuskegee, AL, Michael Colson (Josie) of Alexandria, VA, Lewis Colson of Albemarle, NC, Lillie Ledbetter (Harold) of Polkton, NC, Mabel Jones (JT) of Athens, GA, Villa Colson of Albemarle, NC, Althelia Barnes of Hyattsville, MD and Teresa Colson of Alexandria, VA.; his siblings-in-law, Shirlene Collins, Juanita Colson, Lynn Colson, Shirley Lloyd (Tony), Lillie Ingram, Fanny Watkins of Norwood, NC, Robert Lee (Lizzie) of Ansonville, NC, Walter Lee (Marshel) of Norwood, NC and Garrison Lee (Christine) of Albemarle, NC; and his nieces, Toneka Ridenhour (Edward) and Maria Hailey of Albemarle, NC..
