She was predeceased by: her parents, John Tyson and Easter Georgianna Forte Tyson; her husband James Harris Kendall; her sisters, Alice Mae Maxwell, Pauline Tyson, Elizabeth Merritt (Hobert, Jr.) and Minnie Viola Montgomery; her niece Corlis Amelia Tyson; her grandson Kelvin Lewis Tyson; and her great grandchild Sherri Denise Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Tyson Irving, Melvin Tyson and James Tyson (Tynetta Harris); her daughters-in-law, Rena Tyson and Timika Tyson; her sisters, Easter Georgianna Allen and Mary Ricks; her brothers-in-law, Robert'Man'Montgomery, Timothy Kendall (Willie) and Harvey'Sonny'Kendall; and her nephew Nicholas Spencer. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
