She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse McKnight "J. Mack" Coley and Della Trexler Coley; her husband Baxter Bowers; and her siblings, J. Mack Coley, Elizabeth Ackerman, Douglas Coley and Ann Porter.
She is survived by: her children, June Bowers of Pittsboro, Iris Bowers of New London, Mollie Williamson (Ken) of Wagram, Buddy Bowers (Emily) of Wadesboro and Rick Bowers (Brenda) of Ft. Mill, SC. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Episcopal Church, 308 E. Wade St., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
