It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maliki Quashaun Byrd (Wadesboro, North Carolina), born in Monroe, North Carolina, who passed away on January 20, 2020, at the age of 16, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother David O'Neil Byrd; and his grandparents, Sally Joe Blakeney and David Lee Byrd. He is survived by: his parents, Charleina Gaddy (DeMontra Addison) and David Byrd (Tawana Shield); his close friend Isaiah; his siblings, Dynasty Byrd, Shakira Gaddy and Deoveon Byrd; his grandfather Charlie Mae Day (James) of Morven; his great-grandparent Bertha Montgomery of Monroe; his significant other Iviana Coxe of Wadesboro; his cousin Loretta Williams; and his close friend Marcus Tillman. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
