He is survived by: his children, Amy Jones of Indian Trail, Daniel Sims of Charlotte and Matthew Sims of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Katlynn Jones, Allie Jones and Aiden Jones; his siblings, David Sims of Rockingham, James Thomas of Monroe and Shirley Davis of Peachland; and his niece Lisa Hildreth of Wadesboro.
