It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Jones Steele in Wadesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on December 23, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Claude "Sonny" Steele; her daughter Claudia; her son-in-law Billy Burr; her grandson Jamie Mauldin; her brothers, R. H., William and Harold Jones; and her grandparents, Charlie Thomas Jones, Florence Eugenia Teal Jones, William Battle Tarlton and Susie Cornelia Newton Tarlton.
She is survived by: her children, Deloris Carpenter (Ellis) of Wadesboro, Jeff Steele (Sheila) of Wadesboro and Tony Steele (Sharon) of Rockingham; her siblings, Jerry Jones of Wadesboro, Doris Ellis of Wadesboro, Susie Curtiss of Wadesboro, Gay Van Brero (Erik) of Wadesboro, Polly Becker of Maryland and Clayton Jones (Carolyn) of Kinston; and her sister-in-law Bobbie Jones of Rockingham. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
