She was predeceased by: her parents, William Winston Martin and Virgie Owens Martin; her spouse Thomas William Rice, Sr.; and her sisters, Frances Humphries and Doris Hudson.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Rice, Jr. of Polkton, Katrina R. Martin of Peachland, Sherry Walton (Jimmy) of Norwood, Ann Medlin (Gary) of Jefferson, SC, David Rice (Karin) of Lilesville and Barbara Allen (Paul) of Huntersville; and her siblings, Betty Reynolds of Harrisburg, Vernell Buchanan (Bob) of Spruce Pine, William Martin (Linda) of Concord, Mary Byars of Middleburg, FL, Linda Cooper (Billy) of Charlotte and Dennis Martin of Lincolnton. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
