He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray William Deese and Sarah Frances Burr Deese; his wife Betty Jo Kelly Deese; and his siblings, Horace Deese, Margie Chastain, Helen Melton, Linda Craig and Arlene Sanford.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Grantham of Longs, SC and Tim Deese of Polkton; his grandchildren, Rick Davis (Michelle) of Chesterfield, SC, Chase Davis of Chesterfield, SC, Jamie Diggs of Wadesboro and John Diggs of Wadesboro; his great-grandchildrens, Allyssa, Jaylynn, Austin Curry, Wyatt Adams, Hunter Blackwell, Colbi Griffin (Garrett) and Kendal Eddins (Brandon); his great great grandchild Remi Eddins; his brother Warren Deese of Polkton; and his brother-in-law Wayne Kelly (Linda) of Morven.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McWhorter Hospice House, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
