He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pearson Byrd and Pearl Flowers Byrd; and his siblings, Fred, Hick, Alvis, Thomasina Liles, Anna Belle Bennett, Delease Parsons, Pearlie Mae Ingram and Carrie Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah White Byrd; his son John Derek; his sister Mary Gertrude Hall of Sicklerville; and his sisters-in-law, Loretta Byrd, Elsie White, Irene Ledbetter and Dorothy Barrino. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
