He was predeceased by: his parents, E. D. Hough and Allie Cleo Ricketts Hough; and his siblings, James, Roy Lee, Edward Hough and Alice Plowman.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Edwards Hough; his daughters, Jennifer Ricketts of Wadesboro and Marie O'Neill (Don) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Jonathan Ricketts of Hampton, VA, Trevin Ricketts (Victoria) of Waxhaw, Travis Curran of Polkton, Miranda Curran of Polkton and Michael O'Neill of Monroe; and his great grandchildren, Stephen Ricketts of Wadesboro and Faye Ricketts of Wadesboro.
