She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel Tyson and Merritt Pearl Tyson; her husband Louis Gray Thomas; and her siblings, Marvin Tyson, Buddy Tyson, Grover Tyson, Leo Tyson of Ansonville, Harold Tyson of Laurel Hill, Robert "Shorty" Tyson of Wadesboro, Mattie Tyson Gaddy of Wadesboro and Alice Tyson Moehler of Rockingham.
She is survived by: her sister Ella Tyson Hargett of Wingate; her children, Louis G. "Pete" Thomas, Jr. of Wadesboro, Merritt Russel "Rusty" Thomas of Mechanicsville and Janice Thomas "Jan" Williams (Greg) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Thomas Williams (Kayla) and Connor Williams of Raleigh.
