He was predeceased by: his parents, William Watkins and Rosetta Medley Watkins; and his siblings, Charles Watkins, Mary Rose, Ester Lilly, Margaret Lee, Ruth Rosetta, Ruby Rovetta, Mildred Omega and Maxine Josephine.
He is survived by: his children, Jammie Watkins Ford, Crystal Watkins, Jessie J. Watkins, Michael E. Lennon, Angie L. Lennon, Shirley L. Wright (Clark) and Mary L. Little (James); and his sister Elaine Watkins Johnson-Little. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
