It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George E. Matthews (Wadesboro, North Carolina), who passed away on March 1, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ross and Lillie Pickett Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Louise Rivers Matthews; his son Rick (Carolyn) of Winston-Salem; his grandson Mark (Florence); his great grandchildren, Eleanor and James; his grandchild Kelly Matthews Silliman (Shawn); his great grandchildren, Wyatt and McKinley; his grandson Michael Matthews of Richmond, VA; his great grandchildren, Molly Matthews-Ewald (Chris), Aline Matthews of Portland, OR and Kip Matthews (Kim) of Athens, GA; and also, Jocelyn, Patrick and Schuyler.
