It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Mayes Redfearn Capel (Wadesboro, North Carolina), who passed away on January 20, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband David Townley Redfearn; her husband Bill Capel Sr.; her brothers, Herman Mayes and Earl Mayes; and her son-in-law Jerry Treadway.
She is survived by: her children, Rosie, Mary Townley, Sarah "Lyn" Redfearn Treadway, Rosalind "Roe" Redfearn Boothby (George), Mary Redfearn Creed (Bob) and William C. Capel, Jr. (Jocelyn); her grandchildren, David Treadway (Danielle), Daniel Treadway, Sarah Treadway, Neil Boothby (Brooke), Jeff Boothby and Arthur Capel (Anna); and her great grandchildren, Dakota Treadway, Evelyn "Evie" Treadway, Ella Barker, Townley Boothby, Bailey Boothby and Harrison Boothby.
Although becoming wheelchair-bound and eventually confined by COVID restrictions, she regularly attended church and went out for Sunday lunch thanks to her devoted son Bill.
