He is survived by: his children, James Melton (Lena Mae) of Morven, NC, Alvin Melton (Andrea) of Columbia, SC and Rosemary Melton; his nephew Sylvester Sanders (Gloria) of Fayetteville, NC; his niece Cindy Wiggins (John) of Wadesboro, NC.; his siblings-in-law, Lucille Melton of Morven, NC, Annie Cason of Charlotte, NC. and Sherman Hyatt of Columbia, SC.; his grandchildren, James, Trai, Jarvis (Buckwheat) of Ayesha, DJ, Curtis, Fantasia, Aliyah and Nivea; and his close friend T. C. Covington of Morven, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
